I was on 3rd August 2018, me and my friend Narendra traveled to Shivamogga, in search of finding Nature's treasure to refresh ourself from daily office routine.

Shimoga, officially renamed as Shivamogga, is a  city, that lies on the banks of the Tunga River. Being the gateway for the hilly region of the Western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed as "Gateway of Malnad".

In total, It was 3 day tour in Shivamogga.
Itinerary is as follows:
Day1 : Overnight travel from Bangalore to Talaguppa by train
Day2 : Explore Jog falls- the 2nd highest plunge water fall in India.

Day1: Jog falls

Jog Falls, Gerosoppa Falls or Joga Falls is the second highest plunge waterfall in India located in Sagara taluk of Karnataka. It is a segmented waterfall which, depending on rain and season, becomes a plunge waterfall. The falls are a major tourist attraction and is ranked 13th in the world by the waterfall database.

Its me and Jog falls.....

After exploring jog falls, we headed towards Nitturu. To get in to Nitturu, we had to go to Sagara town. The way from Sagara to Nitturu goes via beautiful road and a ride on Ferry at Hasirmakki. Though the ride is shorter it gives a unique experience, that you will never forget in your life.

Day2: Kodachadri trekking

As decided earlier, We stayed in a home stay in Nittur. There are two ways to reach kodachdri peak. One from Kollur and another is from Nittur. If you are travelling from Bangalore, Nittur is the nearest base point to start the trek. The trek length is around 14km, on one side. After having breakfast , we started our trek at 8:30 am. It took almost 5hrs to reach the peak.
Have a look the below video, for the trek experience.
