Being the gateway for the hilly region of the Western Ghats, the city is popularly nicknamed as "Gateway of Malnad". Savira Kambada basadi - Moodabidri

Date of Journey : 26 Jan 2018 Route : Mangalore -> Moodabidri (~34km) Transport : Bus Savira kambada basadi, also known as Thousand pillars of jain Temple, is one of the famous jain temple, located in Moodabidri. Also knows as Tribhuvana Tilaka Chudamani. The Basadi was built by the local chieftain, Devaraya Wodeyar in 1430 with additions made in 1962. The shrine has a 60 feet tall monolith Manasthambha.

The plan was very spontaneous. I created the itinerary of the trip, on the way to Mysore. We had lot of fun and enjoyed a lot during this trip.
