Date of journey : 05 Aug 2017

It was on a usual friday night, my roommate friend Einstein asked me, "Hey Deekshith, What's the plan for this weekend?". I replied, "As of now I don't have any plans for tomorrow, But I can plan for something, if you are ready to join with me".  "Sure, I can join with you", he replied.
As it was already late to plan for something, we quickly decided to visit one of the favourite spot of the city - Nandi hills.

Next day, we started our jouney at 5:00am from Kadubeesanalli. It just took 1.5 hr to reach the first place of the day Nandi hills.

Nandi hills:

Perched at a height of 4,851 feet above sea level. It is known for the origin of the Arkavathy river.
One can reach the peak without any difficulty, as there is a well defined route to summit.

Visibility ~100mtrs
The temperature was pretty cool at the peak . It was drizzling at some part of the hill. We took hot tea to enjoy the cold weather.

After spending ~1hr, we headed to visit the 2nd place of the day, Bhoga nandhiswara temple.

Bhoganandeeswaraswamy Temple:

This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva and is one of the oldest temples of Karnataka, dates back to the early 9th century. It was Constructed by the rulers of the Nolamba Dynasty and the Rashtrakuta Empire.

The temple is build in Dravidian architecture style. The major attraction in the temple is the large stepped temple tank  known as Pushkarni. This was constructed during the Vijayanagara period by Krishnadeva Raya. The pond is surrounded on all four sides by walkway and a running mantapa. The pond has steps leading down to it on all four sides. This pond is considered as the source of Pinakini (Pennar) river.

We were surprised to see,  low fare list of train tickets painted on the wall, which were used in olden days.

Devarahlli fort

On the way back to our home, we came across Devarahalli fort built the by King Mallabairegowda back in 1501.
